Homey Security

A sanctuary is not finished until it feels safe.

Security at Homey begins with the home itself, then extends into the streets around it. Members register through the Homey Life App. When enough households in one local area register, a dedicated overnight response zone can be established through the separate Homey Security service.

01

Register your household

Interest is registered by address. One household subscription gives access to the people living in the home, so each approved family or household member can use the security app from their own phone.

02

The area activates

Registrations are grouped geographically. Once local participation can support the service, Homey establishes coverage for that area and onboards registered households into the dedicated sister app.

03

See the service live

During operating hours, members can see the active response vehicles moving through their local streets in real time and know that trained personnel are already nearby.

The local model

Visible presence. Calm judgement. Local response.

Each activated area is planned around an overnight service from 10 pm to 6 am, with three equipped response vehicles circulating locally. Vehicles carry lighting, camera and communications equipment so the team can assess a situation, record what is happening and respond together when required.

Each vehicle is staffed by an experienced licensed security professional selected for judgement, composure, physical capability and the ability to de-escalate a situation. One of the three vehicles includes a trained canine unit, giving every operating area access to additional support when an urgent incident requires it.

Because the service is local and already moving within the zone, the operating model is designed around response measured in minutes. Actual times depend on distance, traffic and the circumstances underway.

A connected Resident Circle adds another everyday layer: neighbours know one another, can share useful information and notice when something is unusual. That social connection complements trained security and never replaces emergency services.

Two clear alerts

Swipe for reassurance or urgent help.

Amber

Amber is for the moment that does not feel right: an unfamiliar car lingering outside, a noise around the home, a family member alone and uneasy, or anything that deserves a calm check without treating it as an active emergency.

The alert is already linked to the registered household address. A nearby member of the team is directed there to check the home, understand what is happening and help the household feel secure again.

Red

Red is for an urgent situation in progress. It sends a priority alert to all three local vehicles and directs the team to the registered address, with the canine unit available as part of the coordinated response.

Homey Security complements rather than replaces emergency services. Members should still contact emergency services whenever police, fire or medical assistance is required.

Designed into the home

Protection starts before the service is needed.

For new projects, cameras, alarms, access, lighting and sightlines are considered through the Homey Standard and the consultancy process. The neighbourhood service adds a human response layer around that built protection.
